It’s hard to believe June is almost here. Is it just me, or is time on the fastest track ever, while I scramble to accomplish an ever-increasing pile of daily tasks? I can never catch up to my to-do list.
Last week my husband and his four high school buddies (and spouses) got together for a reunion after 47 years. They’d visited on Zoom every month during Covid, and different ones had spent time together in person over the years, but the last time they were all together in one place was in 1977.

Watching them interact and listening to their stories about the past was testament to the power of friendship. I came away with several new ideas for stories! In fact, I’m now collecting reunion stories, so if you have any to share, please send them my way.
As I turn the calendar page, I’m realizing that MURDER OUTSIDE THE BOX has been out for six months now. I’m eternally grateful for those of you who have read the book, gifted it to others, rated and reviewed it on Amazon and other platforms, and organized book clubs to discuss it.
If you haven’t read it yet, it’s not too late! Detective Parrott’s personal and professional life is waiting for you to join the excitement.
Here is a recent review from best-selling author, Damyanti Biswas (You Beneath Your Skin, The Blue Bar, The Blue Monsoon):

Author, Damyanti Biswas
This book, the latest in the Detective Parrott series has been on my to-be-read pile for a while.
I took it with me on a quick beach vacation and forgot my sunscreen and snacks once I started reading.
Following Detective Parrott over the series has been quite the ride, and he's great in this one too. I loved how the author weaves together controversial topics in the body of a procedural. Her crisp writing and storytelling keep the narrative moving at a fast click.
I read it in a day, and have the sunburns to prove it! If you haven't read this author yet, I recommend beginning at the first in this series and making your way up to this one.

Many thanks to the Git Lit Book Club of Katy, who invited me to talk about BAD BLOOD SISTERS at their May meeting. Fortunately for all of us, we met via Zoom. I didn’t know it, but I had a nasty virus at the time. Nevertheless, we had a blast talking about books, writing, and Quinn!

More thanks to readers like you, who helped me spread the word about the Mother’s Day Special for MURDER IN THE ONE PERCENT. That weekend, the book hit the top ten best-selling catalogue on Amazon in two categories!
I can’t say often enough how much our connection means to me. You’ve supported me in so many ways, and I can’t imagine this journey without you. Know that I am ready to reciprocate any time—just say the word.
I hope you find your best beach reads this summer. Stay well and happy reading.
